TRCN VISITS FCETI FOR RESOURCE ASSESSMENT/ACCREDITATION OF PDE PROGRAM.

The Provost, Federal College of Education Technical, Isu, Dr. Francis N. Azunku, received a Panel for Resource Assessment/Accreditation from the Teachers' Registration Council of Nigeria, TRCN, led by Prof Silas Ede Omebe.

r Francis appreciated the TRCN for their proactive and magnanimous response towards the establishment of the program and affirmed that the college management had made available all the resources for the commencement of the PDE program and TRCN center.

In a further remark, the Provost reiterated that the drive to establish the program was birthed by his personal investigation which disclosed non-existence of institution within Ebonyi State that runs the PDE program. He further said that the successful take-off of the program will aid in consolidating quality and proficiency in expertise as well as learn, unlearn and relearn experiences of the teachers produced from the college.

Afterwards, he directed the Director PDE, Dr Igweka Ugochi Victoria, to take the Panel round to inspect facilities and resources available for a take-off.

During the inspection tour, the Panel visited the offices, classrooms, micro teaching studio, Libraries(conventional/ e-library), laboratories, ICTs, Clinic, etc and encouraged the college management to invest more effort in this course.

Returning to their closed-door meeting venue, the lead-person, Prof Silas expressed huge satisfaction and confidence in the college stamina in infrastructural facilities and updated resources accessed irrespective of her nascence in existence as an institution. He further assured the College that the Panel will take up further considerations in favor of the program take-off in the college.

The visit ended on a highly positive note, with the College Management expressing appreciation to the TRCN Resource Assessment/Accreditation Panel for their objective evaluation, insightful observations, and encouragement.

The Provost, Dr. Francis N. Azunku, commended the Management Team, staff, and all units of the College for their commitment and collective efforts in ensuring the successful conduct of the exercise. He reaffirmed the institution's determination to uphold excellence, promote quality teacher education, and ensure the successful take-off of the Professional Diploma in Education (PDE) Programme and Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) Centre for the benefit of educators within and beyond Ebonyi State.
